Personal Care

Personal Care involves providing essential care related to an individual’s body, appearance, hygiene, and mobility. It encompasses a range of tasks crucial for maintaining overall well-being. These tasks include bathing, oral hygiene, dressing/grooming, toileting, eating, ambulation, transferring between positions, caring for the patient’s environment, and assisting with medication self-administration. Personal care may be required temporarily during recovery from an injury or illness or on a permanent basis for individuals with chronic conditions, advanced age, disabilities, or those nearing the end of life. Infants may also need personal care assistance from caregivers.
